Argentine superstar Lionel Messi tonight reached 500 goals for club and country, pulling one back for Barcelona against Valencia whilst trailing 2-0.
The 28-year-old footballing legend ended his 515 minute goal drought, sliding the ball past Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves from 10 yards.
However, it wasn’t to be a night of celebration with Barcelona dropping yet more points in a La Liga title race that has been blown open over the past couple of weeks. Leo Messi didn’t even celebrate his milestone goal with Luis Enrique’s men desperately needing a positive result.
