Entertainer proud of Nigerian artistes’ achievements so far

A multi-talented entertainer, Charles Granville, has commended Nigerian artistes for their achievements in the entertainment industry so far.
Granville told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Tuesday that he was also proud of both the music and movies produced by the artistes being enjoyed all over the world today.
“Those of us in the music industry are proud of what is happening today, we haven’t won international awards yet, but we will get there.” “If you go to London and you enter into a club, you will hear them play their songs and then they would go Nigerian and you will see the white guys singing our songs, they don’t know what it means, but they are singing and they are dancing to it.”
“And that makes me a lot proud to be a Nigerian, at least, we have something good coming out of Nigeria. “So it’s just a matter of time before the musicians will start getting Grammy(s), and then it’s just a matter of time too before the movie producers will start getting Oscars.
“So it has to do with a lot of work over time and then again submission, knowing when they are asking for entries and then submit your works and then hopefully the works will get nominated and then we’ll take it from there.
“So it happens, it will happen in a matter of time, we just need to keep doing what we are doing but do it better and open the market to the international market as well and then with time, I believe that it is going to happen.’’
NAN reports that Granville is a Lagos based Pop-Gospel artiste, some of his popular tracks include; “By my side’’, “The king is Coming’’, and “Angel’’ among others. The versatile artiste has also featured in a Nollywood movie titled “Road to Yesterday’’. He is also the organiser of the annual Gospel music fiesta, “Shabach’’.
